Lankan's Under Attack!
Sri Lanka, what's happening?
My country is strange. Can i help it? i dont know. yesterday definitely was not Sri Lanka's day. The lankan cricket team was up and ready to fight the aussies, but what went wrong? IMO, every thing. We lose the world cup, then there's this messed up air strike in colombo. what is happening? in my mind it's total chaos.
Till yesterday everything in life seemed to be almost perfect. a newspaper article said that the LTTE will keep their guns down on the day of the Cricket WC finals. the article also mentioned that Prabhakaran was a major cricket fan. so why did they attack? why didn't they keep their word? is it because they knew sri lanka was losing.. well this relationship sounds very lame. but who knows?
Sri lanka must've had a very good game plan for a 50 over match, but they failed miserably when the number of overs reduced to 38. even murali failed to take a single wicket. the fielders were sloppy, the wicket keeper kept on missing the balls as well. so the bowlers were not that successful. then what about the batsmen? imo the batting side did well. 215 in 38 overs against Australia?! thats over 6 runs per over. if only our bowlers had more luck.
luck doesn's seem to be working in our way. to add to the gloomy atmosphere there were blackouts around the country, making things look even more gloomier. generators might have powered up the large screens at large gatherings like CH and CR&FC. but i had to remain at home after realising that my AL's are in like 15 days! i had to hook up to my radio on my phone. sangakkara was whacking, who went on making a 50. jayasuriya smashed 3 consecutive fours.. bang! bang! that was not jayasuriya and no, it wasn't sangakkara .. nor was it lightening, though it sounded like thunder.. the windows started to vibrate. a few seconds later there were sounds of gun fire. what the hell was happening. the whole country was in dark, and then this.
eventually we lost the world cup, and in the morning i find that we've been attacked by the LTTE. Sri lanka, what the bloody hell is happening here?

It was a retaliation to an SLAF attack on killinochi. They destroyed the peace there and did not expect a retaliation from the LTTE so soon.
After watching the first half where Adam Gilchrist took us apart, maybe the LTTE thought it's pointless watching the game's second half and might as well give the Colombo public a some action.
Tamil net carried a report timelined 1.10am saying that they had dropped the bombs in retalliation to an airstrike by the SL airforce at 1.15am.. they let their slip be shown with that error which shows that the LTTE started it and not the SL Airforce
